The birthstone for August is Peridot and I just love this shade of green. Thinking about it I do actually have quite a few clothes in this colour, including Converse shoes of course! And back in the 90s I had a nail polish this exact shade and I absolutely loved it! In fact I now feel I need to seek out some more nail varnish in this colour as it was pretty awesome! Surely I'm not going to love the colour for September as much as this!

When planning your wedding you can pretty much have a say on every small detail except, of course, the weather. I think everyone hopes their special day will be sunny, or at least dry, but in the UK you should always consider the possibilty of at least a little drizzle.

I was so convinced it would rain when I got married that I went and bought two huge white umbrellas just like this. It didn't rain. In fact it was the hottest day so far that year and I spent much of the day melting in the heat.

But a wet day really doesn't have to mean a miserable day. It's an excuse to wear pretty wellington boots.

And carry pretty umbrellas.

You can use the puddles to make really cool wedding photos.

And you can have a romantic kiss in the rain with no one around - the guests will all be inside keeping dry.

Be honest, does it look like any of the couples above let their wedding be spoiled by a bit of rain? I bet in some cases it makes it a wedding to remember!

This time next month we'll be hanging up our stockings in anticipation of Santa's arrival. We'll have left out and milk and cookies (or maybe Santa would prefer a glass of wine this year). We'll be doing last minute present wrapping and we'll be panicking that we've forgotten to buy some key ingredient for Christmas dinner. Yes, this time next month it'll be Christmas Eve. Oooo, exciting.

I promise I'll post again tomorrow and it'll be about something that has nothing to do with Christmas at all. I just couldn't resist writing about Christmas Eve tonight as in many ways it's actually more exciting that Christmas itself.

Because I promised not to talk about Christmas again for a while I thought I would kick off the weekend with this very unfestive image. What a beautiful scene this is. At the moment I can't even imagine feeling this warm outside again. Although saying that I know it's actually quite mild at the moment and will definitely get colder as winter gets in full swing.

Hope you all have a lovely and warm weekend!

P.S. Doesn't that mountain the background look a little like a Christmas tree?

Can I mention Christmas just one more time if I promise not to talk about it again until December? Thanks... I just wanted to let you know that we are selling snowflake charm bracelets in our shop that would be perfect for treating yourself to at this time of year. These seasonal items would also make fantastic Christmas gifts.

If you want to find out more please come and visit our online shop. It's well worth a look - if I do say so myself.

P.S. I just looked at the calendar and December is ages away. I may sneak in just one more Christmassy post before then.

In just five weeks time it will be Christmas Day. To some that may seem like ages away but to others that's excitingly close! Personally, it feels closer than I though it was and it appears to have snuck up on me this year. Anyway, I want to include a few Christmassy posts here so thought I'd better get started now - if I don't you'll just end up with five weeks worth of pretty festive pictures in the week before Christmas.

I've eased you in gently with this beautiful pastel Christmas display. It's festive but at the same time really subtle. You could almost get away with having this up in your house all year round! Stay tuned for more lovely Christmas images and ideas.

The following images show teeny tiny home work spaces which I think I'm going to call a working nook. These picture prove that even when you have very limited space you can still find a way to create a desk area for yourself. I love the way these use the space above the desk as well and have a great use of shelving.

When I saw this list on a website I realised I completely agree with all of these things - except the toasty cup of tea. I don't like tea, or coffee for that matter, so it would have to be a lovely cup of hot chocolate. Anyway, how many of these things make you smile? Most of them I am guessing so I hope your weekend is full of lots of the above!

Happy weekend!

There are so many ways you could incorporate a little bit of blue into your wedding outfit. For example, I painted my toenails a pretty blue colour. You couldn't see them as I had closed toe shoes on but I knew they were there. Pale blue shoes would also be a great way of using the colour. I love these pretty ones that would go perectly with a white wedding dress.

You could of course wear some jewellery with a little bit of blue in it. How about an exclusive Tilly & Tabitha design like this one.

See what I did there? Sneaky bit of advertising that you didn't even notice. Seriously though, we do have lots of lovely wedding jewellery in our store so please so come have a look.

Now Halloween and Firework Night are over it's time to start the countdown to Christmas. Therefore I think it's definitely time to inject a bit of a Christmas sparkle into your everyday life. I wouldn't suggest going out in head-to-toe sequins during the day but here are a few ideas for adding a little glitter to an otherwise ordinary outfit.

If you don't fancy these skirt and sweater ideas how about a jacket with sparkly sleeves. I think it's a fabulous idea that's bound to get heads turning.

And finally, I *NEED* these boots. I love the style even without the sparkle but it really does make them extra special.

I really don't like being cold. I spend a lot of time wishing the weather was warm again or that I could escape somewhere hot. But then I see a photo like this and it just makes me think that actually the cold weather isn't that bad. Not if it means you can come home throw some logs on the fire (or turn up the central heating in my case) and get all snuggly with slippers, blankets and woolly jumpers. I think I would possibly be able to spend the whole weekend lazing around in this room.

Happy weekend everyone!

I'm finding myself with a bit of a dilemma. As you know I have become a little bit obsessed by converse and have rather a lot of pairs. Up until now I've always had a bit of a Converse wish list but it appears I now have every pair off that list. My problem, therefore, is what pair to wish for next.

Here is a photo of my collection. So tell me, what's missing? What pair do I *need* next?
