Just thought you might like to see what my husband surprised me with on Christmas morning. Pink Converse with stars! Could they be more girly? I must admit I probably wouldn't have chosen a pair like this myself but after seeing them in the flesh, so to speak, I think they look really cool! I can't wait to wear them out now but there's no way I am taking them outside in this miserable weather. Yet another reason to be wishing away the winter and saying hurry up spring.

I hope Santa was kind to you this Christmas and you had a lovely time celebrating with family and friends.

Our Christmas tree is going up this weekend. It's a week earlier than I probably would have gone for but I've been outvoted by the kids. And when I say kids I am including the big kid that is my husband! Therefore I think it's time to festive up this blog a little. Let's start with these bright and colourful baubles. They can't fail to make you smile.

Here's to a weekend of feeling a little bit festive.

Is it cold where you are? It definitely feels like winter arrived here this week. It feels so cold I wouldn't be surprised if we even saw the odd dusting of snow quite soon. Or perhaps that's just me being over dramatic. I am always the first to feel the cold. The picture above is reminding me I need to stock up on hot chocolate for the winter months! I hope you have a lovely and warm and cozy weekend.

Yesterday I treated you to a selection of trainers and winter shoes with wedge heels. Today I thought I'd carry on with the high heeled casual theme and show you these! What do you reckon? Good for looking a bit stylish when out for a jog? Seriously, I'm not even sure if these shoes are for real and if they are whether anyone would actually buy them. Personally, a little piece of me does actually quite like them but definitely not for doing anything vaguely sporty in!

I bought these concealed wedge hi-top trainers from New Look last week and I can't believe how much I love them. They are so comfy and I can wear them with all those jeans of mine which are just too long to wear with regular trainers.

I went for the hi-tops but I also kind of had my eye on these ones as well.

Source
I think I was drawn to them as they reminded me of these vintage trainers I spotted whilst browsing the internet a few years ago. I've always wished I could have something similar.

Perhaps I'll get the red pair another day. Or maybe these which I rather like as well. I think they are a perfect winter boot!

So, winter wedges for you? Yes or no?

Last Friday I kicked of the weekend by showing you a photograph of some scrummy looking doughnuts. This weekend I thought I would carry on the food theme by showing you what I believe to be the prettiest cheesecake in the world. I bet it tastes as beautiful as it looks.

Happy weekend folks. Here's to a weekend full of cheesecake, doughnuts and other lovely sweet things. We can start eating healthily again on Monday!

I spotted this gorgeous bag on Pinterest and it got me thinking that perhaps I am missing a turquoise bag in my life. I think this colour teamed with brown straps looks gorgeous. I shall keep an eye out for more turquoise bags that are in the shops right now and let you know what I find. Just incase you'd been considering turquoise too!

As it's been so sunny this summer I have spent the past few months painting my nails all kinds of fantastic bright colours, as well as a few pretty pastels. But the autumn is on it's way now and neon yellow just doesn't seem right any more. I think I might actually give my poor nails a break from the polish for a bit but then welcome the change in season with some darker and more subtle shades. Here are a few nail colours which I think would be pefect for autumn.

2013 has definitely been all about yellow for me. I really love the colour at the moment. In spring it's hard not to love the fresh lemon colour. In the summer I have of course been embracing bright and neon shades. And now autumn is almost upon us I have actually found myself rather drawn to items of clothing in more of a mustard shade. In fact I've already picked up a couple of tops with a bit of this colour in them. Both stripy - surprise susrprise!

Here are a few images I've seen that have made me consider mustard - a colour which a few years ago I actually really disliked!

Oh and in case you were wondering - winter yellow will have to be a Christmassy gold won't it?

The day after tomorrow it will be September. I'm not sure I'm ready for that as I've been having such a lovely summer. Even though the beginning of September can still be very warm and sunny to me it feels like autumn suddenly arrives with a bump and the flip flops and shorts need to be hidden in the back of the wardrobe again!

Happy weekend everyone! Here's to a few more weeks of summer if possible please!

Following on from last week's post where I told you just how tired I was here are a few words of wisdom on the subject! Life's far too short to spend it going to bed early. Not that I can sleep when I get an early night anyway as I think I'm a bit of a night owl. Well I'm definitely not a morning person!

Happy weekend everyone!

So how are you enjoying the summer? I have been having a wonderful time and I'm so sad that the autumn seems to be drawing ever nearer. I'm going to miss the sunshine (the weather's actually been rather nice this year) and I'm going to miss my daughter when she starts full-time schoool in just a few weeks. However, the words above do sum up how I am feeling right now. I am flippin' shattered.

Anyway, here's to a nice relaxing weekend..... maybe!!

I know wedding dresses comes in all different colours these days but to be honest I'd never actually considered gold until I saw this image. I think this is amazing. And if you can't have a bit of sparkle on your wedding day when can you? I really love the flowers too, they look amazing against the dress. Perfectly chosen, I imagine, because of the subtle hint of gold in them.

I saw this and had to share. This cupcake display is so pretty and I bet rather tasty as well. I think this would make a perfect wedding cake if you were after something a little different. Or even if you did want a big traditional cake these would look really cute as an extra dessert that people could help themselves to - perhaps especially for evening guests. What do you think?

So how's your week been? I hope there weather's as lovely where you are as it is here. It's been so nice in fact, that my husband and our daughter went camping in the back garden and spend the night in our new tent. I must admit I am actually a little jealous. I hope there weather stays nice so I can have my turn under the stars! Our tent doesn't look quite as pretty as the one above but it did look very cozy by the time my daughter had filled it up with duvets, cushions and lots of cuddly toys!

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!

Wow, check out these nesting dolls. Aren't they super cute? I've got a soft spot for nesting dolls and considering they usually come in all different colours I thought it was rather original to see some that were just black and white. Anyway, not much else so say on the subject - I just saw these and had to share!

I know I am probably a bit late in posting about this but what are your thoughts on the white nail polish trend? I think it's a good idea in theory but the reality is that I just feel like I'm wearing Tippex on my fingers. (I believe that's Wite Out in the States isn't it?)

Anyway, if you feel the same way as me about white nail polish but don't want to miss out on the craze here are a few suggestions that are working for me.

Source
Firstly, crackle effect nail polish. This way you get a bit of white and a bit of another colour. I really like this sparkly idea.

Source
Or alternatively, try using a really light coloured nude polish like this. I love 'Lychee' from the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine range. In fact I am actually wearing it on my nails as I type this!

So come on tell me, do you have an item of clothing you own but never wear? Not because you hate it but because you had to have it even if you knew you'd never wear it. I have been thinking and the only thing in my wardrobe like that is my yellow polka dot satchel. I love it to pieces and I am so pleased my husband surprised me with it but I just haven't got around to actually using it yet. It's just a bit bulky and it needs to be worn in a bit. I need to use it soon though as it's definitely more of a sunny summer sunshine bag than a winter one.

Here are a few more items I love but if I bought I would never wear. Thank goodness for Pinterest! I can have a virtual wardrobe of pretty things there so I don't waste any more on things that will just hang up unworn.

Source
Let's start with this coat as it's so pretty. I have seen lots of white and cream coats which are gorgeous but I know that a white coat and me just would not get on. It would be grubby within minutes of leaving the house. I am like that with most pale coloured clothes.

Source
I love this sparkly skirt but I really don't think I could carry it off or indeed have many places to wear it. I think I am the wrong height and shape for maxi skirts and dresses anyway.

Source
I don't think I need to do a lot of explaining about this bikini. It's so lovely. I love the delicate design but sadly I think I would be better off sticking to my typical mummy swimming uniform of a black one piece swimming costume next time I take my kids to the pool!
